Have a clean river surely can make our quality of life better. But many residents in Pekalongan didn't realize it. It was prove with increasingly dirty rivers in Pekalongan. And it's happened because of some reasons.
Firstly, waste of batik being dumped into the river. In Pekalongan, most of the residents have job as a enterpreneur batik. They made batik and in the process will produce waste. the waste just throw into the river without any process, so it make the river became dirty and have bad smell. Example in my village, the river is very dirty and many fish died because the waste of batik.
Secondly, lack of public awareness about the importance of river. River is very important for our live such as it can irrigate ricefield, we can get fish from river, etc. But in our city we don't realize it. We contaminate the river without think the effects.
